Packaging production means thousands of orders, dozens of machines and logistics that has to keep up. Unipap needed to see the whole company at once. Today it runs on one central data model and a suite of reports covering everything from sales through production and quality to transport.
Problem: every department with its own numbers
Data about orders, production, stock and finance lived in the ERP and in each department's spreadsheets. Reports were assembled by hand, every team looked at its own numbers and a management view of the whole company took a lot of effort and arrived late.
Solution: one data model and reporting for the whole company
SBID built a central data model with more than 65 tables, from the general ledger through sales and purchase orders, production orders and operations to machine downtime, claims and transport. On top of it run thematic reports for eight areas of the company:
- Sales and customer service: sales performance, open orders, OTIF
- Production: output, norm fulfilment, productivity, maintenance and machine downtime
- Finance: management P&L, balance sheet, budgets and financial indicators
- Purchasing and stock: stock overviews, stock levels and ageing, supplier OTIF
- Quality: scrap analysis, claims and credit notes
- Transport: transport costs and vehicle utilisation
- Engineering: configurations, new production preparation and designer performance
- A KPI dashboard and a one-page overview of the whole company for management
Result: the whole company on one screen

- Production tracks output, norms and downtime from daily data
- Sales and customer service work with the same order numbers
- No more manual exports and assembling reports in Excel
- One data model as the foundation for further analytics
Reporting that grows with the company
Reporting is not a one-off project. We keep developing it with Unipap, adding new views, KPIs and areas as the company needs them.
