RKO Group
RKO Group is a Czech group of companies in waste management, recycling and production. The holding's ten companies now run on a single data platform.
Problem
Data of 10 companies locked in separate systems and Excel
Solution
A Fabric data platform and complete reporting for the whole group
10
Companies on one data platform
5
Reporting areas
30+
Power BI reports
200+
Hours saved every month
How do you manage a group of ten companies when each keeps its books in its own system and reports are assembled by hand? RKO Group solved it with a data platform built on Microsoft Fabric. Data from all companies flows into one data model. Management, sales, production and purchasing now work with the same numbers.
Problem: a group without a unified view of its numbers
Each company in the group worked with its own data and consolidation happened by hand in Excel. Management had no place to see the whole group's performance at once. Sales and production data was scattered across individual systems, and getting to it took a lot of manual work.

Solution: a Fabric data platform and reporting for five areas
SBID built a data platform in Microsoft Fabric on top of the group's systems. One central semantic model with 40+ tables, from the general ledger through stock movements to production orders and attendance, feeds thematic Power BI reports:
- Finance: management P&L, balance sheet, EBITDA, CAPEX, financing, receivables and payables
- Production: norm fulfilment, production plan, workstation load, labour costs, work queue
- Sales: purchased and sold material, sales with margin, new and lost partners
- Purchasing: development of material purchase prices
Result: one source of truth for the whole group
- 200+ hours saved every month on report preparation and consolidation
- The performance of all 10 companies in one place, by company and cost centre
- Management sees the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow without waiting for closing spreadsheets
- Production manages capacity and norm fulfilment from daily data
- Role-based access: everyone sees exactly what they should
Why Fabric
Microsoft Fabric combines the data warehouse, transformations and reporting in one service. For RKO Group that means a single platform instead of a patchwork of tools, with room to grow, from automated data flows to advanced analytics.
